Nordic Glow

Terms & Conditions

Nordic Glow – Terms & Conditions.

By reading these Terms & Conditions, you agree to be held responsible for ensuring that you are aware of and follow the terms and conditions below in order to ensure a safe sauna environment for all.

Please review the terms & conditions outlined below before making your booking.  If you’re making this booking on behalf of a group, it’s your responsibility to ensure everyone in your group has read and agreed to these terms and conditions before using the sauna.  This is key to ensuring everyone is aware of how to practice safe sauna use and promotes a safe sauna experience for all users.

Anybody wishing to use the sauna does so at their own risk.

Risks include burns, bodily injury and death. If you are not sure or have doubts about using the sauna due to other health conditions you may have, then you should consult your GP before booking any sessions with us.

Examples of health conditions that you may wish to discuss with your GP before sauna use includes those listed below.  Please note this is not a comprehensive list:

  • Low or high blood pressure

  • You are currently on prescription medication

  • Previous or current heart / cardiovascular problems

  • Epilepsy

  • Asthma

  • Diabetes

  • Allergies

  • Pregnant

  • Nervous system disorder

  • If you have joint or muscle injury

If you intend to use the sea as an optional cold plunge, make sure you have checked the tide times and that you are a confident open water swimmer (in varying conditions) before entering the water and that your body is able to withstand this exposure.  Optional cold water exposure after your sauna is entirely at your own risk.

The sauna’s entry area can serve as a storage space for personal belongings, but individuals assume full responsibility for lost, stolen or missing possessions.  Please bring minimal belongings as our changing room is small.   Nordic Glow Wellness bears no responsibility or liability for missing or stolen possessions and we advise you keep these in your car or a safe place before entering.

No alcohol is permitted in the sauna.  Nordic Glow Wellness will refuse entry to the sauna to anyone who arrives for their session intoxicated or who poses a risk to health and safety.  All visitors agree to pay for any damage caused to the sauna or property belonging to Nordic Glow Wellness.

All visitors agree to use the sauna at their own risk and are subject to these terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Clients are responsible for reviewing the current Terms and Conditions before booking a sauna session.

Nordic Glow – Sauna Rules & Regulations

The maximum number of people permitted inside the sauna at any one time is 8 people.  The sauna is wood fired with hot rocks, which are extremely hot.  Additional water is available should you wish to increase the temperature. Do not touch any part of the heater including the sauna rocks or surrounding fire guards.

We aim to heat the sauna to an ideal temperature of around 80 degrees for your session.  Please leave the sauna as you found it. The fire should be left to burn out and the lights are on a timer so will go out by themselves. Please take a last look for any belongings.

To prevent burns, you should remove any jewellery before entering the sauna. Additionally, ensure that your swimsuit does not contain any slimming panels or metal components that may heat up and potentially cause skin burns.

Please do not wear contact lenses in the sauna as they can dry out in the heat and it is also advised to remove glasses to avoid any damage.

The operators of Nordic Glow Wellness reserve the right to refuse entry, cancel or cut short your sauna session to any / all individuals who are intoxicated or pose a risk to health and safety for any other reason. Refunds will not be given to individuals who are refused admission.

We will be in touch if there are any concerns with the weather. Please take care entering and exiting the sauna as the door can be heavy in strong wind and the steps may be slippy in colder weather, especially if the shower is in use.

Liability: Exposure to hot equipment, slippery surfaces caused by water, ice, snow or other substances, hot temperatures, airborne illnesses and contaminants is undertaken at your own risk. Property is left at your own risk. Nordic Glow Wellness is not liable or responsible for any injuries, health issues, lost/damaged personal items or claims that may arise as a result of your use of our facilities or services. By booking, you accept the risks and waive any claims against Nordic Glow Wellness.

Sauna Etiquette must be followed at all times, this includes:

  1. Before entering the sauna, you must be barefoot and have washed your feet from any sand or dirt using the shower by the entrance.

  2. All users must bring a towel to sit on at all times. We recommend bringing 2 towels with one to clean off with after your session.

  3. Do not wear any fake tan, creams or lotions, as this will seep through onto the benches and you will be liable for this damage.

  4. Spend no more than 15-20 minutes in the sauna at any one time – Leave the sauna if you start to feel uncomfortable, nauseous, dizzy or lightheaded.  Keep sessions to what is comfortable to you.

  5. When using the sauna, please follow the operator’s instructions for putting water on the hot rocks. Using the ladle and bucket provided (not your own water from a bottle) gently administer the water onto the rocks keeping your forearm back from the stove itself as steam will rise. This should be done intermittently to ensure the temperature does not increase too quickly, and only once others are seated and not standing. Please do not put anything else onto the rocks.

  6. Enter/ Exit the sauna in a careful manner to avoid any trips and or falls. The space can be limited and floor wet. No foot wear should be worn inside the sauna.

  7. The access point must be left clear at all times to allow users to exit safely and swiftly if necessary, especially to those sitting close to the stove.

  8. Respect others you are sharing with. Make sure to check with other users if you want to increase the temperature by putting water on the rocks.

  9. Make sure to hydrate throughout your session, drink plenty of water during and after use.

  10. Do not eat, drink alcohol, smoke or take drugs before entering or during your sauna session.

  11. Nudity is strictly not permitted in the sauna. Please wear adequate swimwear/ clothing.

  12. Make sure to get changed prior to your booked time slot. This will allow you to make the most of the time you have.

  13. The sauna is open to over 16’s. Children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult per child).

  14. Nordic Glow Wellness reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be given to anyone refused admission.

  15. Be kind – we are there to offer you the best experience you can have. Please be kind to your sauna community and to our sauna staff.

  16. Nordic Glow Wellness shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from services provided, except where caused by our negligence or breach of legal duty. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be lawfully excluded.
